रिङरोडभित्र मोटरसाइकल प्रतिबन्ध गर्ने तयारी

I got to read this early morning... रिङरोडभित्र मोटरसाइकल प्रतिबन्ध गर्ने तयारी As much as I would have problem in my commute if this rule is enforced, I equally welcome this if it helps in having better, non-polluted city. But, - By asking motorbikes to be removed, are you asking the motor bike riders to buy cars? The city thinks people are too rich enough to buy a car now? Or are you asking them to buy a cycle? Will the city plan a better cycle friendly road ahead? Or are you asking them to commute by public bus? How will the city make sure the public buses are travel friendly; on time, less crowded, safe? - Will the city plan how to ease the commute of motor bikers before enforcing this rule? Or will the city enforce the rule first and let the motor bikers figure out themselves - because we (the govt) f**king don't care how you travel. - ‘ यसले सहरको सुन्दरता बढाउनुका साथै प्रदुषण र दुर्घटनासमेत कम गर्न मद्धत मिल्ने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ।’ - Do you have any data to

Back to Kathmandu

It's 11:30 pm. I just landed in Pokhara International Airport. It’s been already 10 years since I left Nepal. Don’t ask me reasons. I wouldn’t bother to say. Last time, I left Nepal in a plane, from the Kathmandu International Airport. It was the only international one in Nepal. Returning back on an international flight to a different international airport is fascinating in itself. 10 years and I still remember the day I was leaving Kathmandu. The crowded ‘fish-market’-port, the mismanaged departments, the stinking toilets. When I look back, I wish the last day in Nepal had been a little beautiful – not full of bad memories. I remember the sh*t-port more than the faces of my family. The case is totally different now. Down from the plane and I don’t see that crowd anymore. Beautifully designed and well thought boards clearly point me to the right direction. A person at every door directed me, though I was uncomfortable to ask. I have been told of sad stories of Kathmandu

Something amazing happened #CarpoolKathmandu

Something amazing happened #CarpoolKathmandu Carpool Kathmandu must be the recent viral thing in Kathmandu. Due to the 'Unofficial' Blockade by our lovely neighbour India, fuel shortage is hitting Nepal hard, thus leading to low number of public vehicles as well as private transport. And thus, Carpool Kathmandu came into being. Amidst the selfies, #ask, #offer, lift stories, MRR vs. Carpool Kathmandu 'stupid' discussion, stupid ads, unnecessary tantrums by kids, an amazing thing has happened due to this group.   N G La Deuja, one of the members of Carpool Kathmandu shared her story in the group. She shared how she helped a couple, who were visually impaired, get lift to home. She then wrote if anyone would like to help with the education of their children.  After 8 days of the story, Prabhat Sapkota shares this story in the same group. Mr.  Sapkota saw the story shared by Miss Deuja and got inspired to help the kid. Mr. Sapkota has informed through

Kathmandu Kora Cycling Challenge

Kathmandu Kora Cycling Challenge July 10, 2014 What is Kathmandu Kora Cycling Challenge? Kora: "Kora  is both a type of pilgrimage and a type of meditative practice in the  Tibetan Buddhist  or  Bon  ( Tibetan :  བོན ,  THL : Bön,  Wylie : Bon) traditions. A  Kora  is performed by the practitioner making a circum ambulation around a sacred site or object , typically as a constituent part of a pilgrimage, ceremony, celebration or ritual. However, in broader terms, it is a term that is often used to refer to the entire pilgrimage experience in the  Tibetan Buddhist  region." - Source :  Wikipedia Kathmandu Kora: So, as a Buddhist p r actitioner makes a circular locus around a sacred site in doing a 'KORA', in the Kathmandu Kora, we make a  circumlocution around the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal .  The reason behind making a circumloction around the valley seems to be both spiritual and logical.  Spiritual, because Kathmandu Valley contains
