In the mid of all those ‘Normal Trend’ Nepali movies with stupid ‘flying’ action sequences, unnecessary and disgusting kissing scenes and ‘exposures’, released LOOT, on Jan 13,2012 with much expectations, not only in the mind and hearts of the CREW but also the new ‘Generation audience.
loot [luːt] n : goods, money, etc., obtained illegally
As the title suggest, the film revolves around the idea of a bank robbery. ‘Haku’, seen as the lead in the movie, plays the lead of the LOOT plan as well. A guy with and urge to earn money himself, finds 4 more such guys who would be interested and help him with the plan.
‘Nare’ , ‘Khatri’, ‘Gopal’ aka ‘Gofle’ and ‘Pandey’ are the supporting looters , Haku finds. Nothing to talk much about the story; it’s just a normal story you would expect it to be. These looters make a plan to rob the money. That’s all ‘in short’.
What is to be noted and praised is that IT IS REALLY A GOOD FILM, and is REALLY a Nepali film that each Nepali people would and should feel proud of. The way the story flows, the way it has been shot, the way the characters have been played, even the locations are so well chosen.
I would also like to add about the cast. It is actually so good the actors that have been chosen. The actors fit perfectly to their roles in the movie rather than impersonating someone who they actually don’t look like at all, which is a plus point to the whole LOOK of the movie.
And the locations match perfect too. Rather than choosing hills, mountains, lakes and all those, which are normally the locations in ‘general’ Nepali movies and which the producers and directors boast about, LOOT contains places, which shows the REAL life.
There are dialogues that will make you clap and yes, there are ones that make you offended. But, trust me, that’s nothing compared to the ones you have heard in English and Indian movies. It would be right to criticize the offensive languages used if had been used without context. But since the dialogues, though ADULT ones fit to the story and the context, and so mustn’t be taken in a wrong way.
******* So, go and watch the movie. It’s REALLY worth watching and I assure you , you won’t regret for the expense you make. ***********
[ PS: don’t go for the movie if u want to spend on just the item song. You had better watch it on youtube ]
