But, who invented this gesture?
Early morning one day, I was watching this movie called Sheshnaag, an old classic movie about snakes. I saw the same gesture done by Jeetendra and Madhavi in a dance step.
Looks like, the gesture was invented long back before Comedy Nights with Kapil or even long before Kapil exsited as a comedy person.

But, What does Babaji Ka Thullu mean?
This is the mainstream media creating its own 'meme' to suit its own purposes. On the surface it's not meant to mean anything but 'Im cool' and 'with the times'. So people repeat it like mindless drones unaware of what it actually eludes to. Chuthulu of the HP Lovecraft mythos is an 'Ancient One' or sumerian god/demon of the underworld waiting beneath the ocean to be summoned in some secret ceremony to bring forth the Apocalypse. Chthulu is big business in western underground and occult circles. Babaji means literally old father and is also a famous guru that lives for centuries in the Himalayas. This creates an amalgam of east/west, dark/light. And the the snake meme is serpent worship.
