CAN infotech - 2012 [ my experience ]

[if you get bored read things in bold J THEY MIGHT BE USEFUL]
With pure thought in mind that it [ CAN 2012] would be full of nothing, but laptops and pen drives on sale, like always, but still curious if i might luckily find something new in there which i could talk about to people, I decided to enter this year’s CAN InfoTech.
After  I got off the bus and entered the Exhibition Road (Pradarshini  Marga) I couldn’t be more shocked to see the queue there for ticket. It was my 5th time in CAN I guess, but never found so much of people. And the ticket? Idiots had increased the ticket price too. Rs. 50 for the student!!! Was the ticket price hike due to the hike in petrol or kerosene or gas or what? I couldn’t understand. They have got so many sponsors, keeping price ticket wouldn’t do anything bad to them right? Instead more people would come, twice, thrice too. (Last time I went thrice: D)
So as a good , civilized J citizen of Nepal, I stood behind in the queue. Almost after 15 minutes, got the ticket and straight through the gate after filling up a silly form for prizes :D.
Last time there was some newspaper’s stall, which would give away a mp4 player for free for its 1year subscription. But this time it wasn’t there. Instead there was the great REPUBLICA, the thief.  There was the same Advertisement hoarding flex I shared last time, which it EXACTLY STOLE from some foreign ad. I was giggling inside J
Actually I was there to buy a UPS for myself, and a speaker for the friend. And also to see the DUAL SIM-WIFI mobiles. At the first stall I asked the lowest price of a UPS. I heard 650. 650??? Seriously? I was about to take out the purse and buy, but I preferred to ask again. He said 3200 this time. WTF?  650 was actually the volt or watt or sth. Asshole! GAVE FALSE HOPE :((
So UPS was out of my mind. Now we started just hanging around to see stuffs. There were more LAPTOP stalls than anything else, which was quite annoying me. I already got a laptop, and at the price I bought my laptop 2 years ago, now you get an amazing laptop with much more specifications. SO NO INTEREST IN THE LAPTOP STALLS!
[advice: if you are planning to get laptops, u better visit those stalls, you will get amazing specs laptops at amazing price. I found ASUS the most cheap there with more specs than others. ]
I wanted to see G’five’s project mobile since its launch, which I finally got to see. As told by the salesperson there, it would give nice view for around 40 inches, which is actually true as I saw it personally. I thought it would project movies and videos only, but it actually works like a normal projector, projecting everything, the menu screen , photos, I mean everything. The price was 10 thousand and sth. It was a dual sim mobile. Had It been a wifi mobile too, I would have surely got it.but…never mind
Next I saw G’five’s dual sim-wifi mobile. It was nice, but QWERTY? I hate qwerty keypads. Price was around 6500 as far I remember. At 5500 I would get a LG touch. But again touch? It has a resistive touch, really very very bad. And again, that’s why its cheap right? So I have two options. Don’t know what would I buy!
The next most viewed stall was for a 6000 nrs tablet. UBISLATE I guess. 100 for booking! Omg, there was realy big crowd over there to book.  Just curious, no intention to  buy, I asked what’s its RAM with a guy over there. He said 700 MHz. WTF??? RAM in MHz? never heard of that earlier… either I am unknown about that or that guy knows too much about that. So I went quiet.
OMG I NEARLY FORGOT TO TELL ABOUT THIS!
This was the best info I got in there. A new company I guess, wirelessDSL has new scheme
Rs 500 per month – 5 pm to 10 am UNLIMITED – 512kbps
Rs 500 per month – all the month – 192 kbps
For other details, u better visit the stall SOON
Advantage visiting now? Yes there is! You get the DEVICE, which is a must to use the internet facility. Its normal cost is 4000 (though you don’t own it totally, you have to return it back in case you decide to stop using the service).
Till the CAN, you get the device for free i.e. installation charge free.
CONS?? Yes, its not available in small cities yet. So KATHAMANDU inhabitants, grab the opportunity. I think its worthy. Had I not been a hosteller at dhulikhel, I would have surely bought it.
That’s all I saw worth for me.
Out of the main frame, we went to small stalls, Stalls of SALES. Pendrives , laptop covers, cooling pads, headphones, speakers, even stickers and blah blah.
I saw a stall of photo studio, am sure going there to get a tshirt printed :))
Bought a JPT speaker for 850 and a LCD cleaner for 75 :p
Another thing that got crowd was a yellow box, a lamp, an FM radio, at 1100, 24 hrs backup.. wat the kolaveri?? Go buy that!
In the same range I saw a solar lamp, 6 to 8 hrs backup. Charge it in the sun, use it at night. The amazing thing was what the guy told next. He either said you could charge mobile with it or use mobile’s charge to light it. Anyway it was amazing. The next feature was you could wind it up and charge it, by rotating a handle. It was cool. I might buy it someday :))

So that’s all I got to write. Im bored actually. I don’t know how you bored you might be reading this.
Thanks :))

Timi Uta Ma Yeta (Sunsaan Raat Ma) Guitar Chords - Pratik Gurung Cover - Original by Milan Newar, Rajan Raj Shiwakoti

I came across this song when Kanden Limbu sang this in Nepal Idol.  He was one of the contestants. I thought it was his original. Surprisingly, it is not. His was based on Pratik Gurung's cover. This is actually a full fledge song with a music video. Here's the original one. However, I like the cover version. Here are the chords for a portion of the song.
