Drunk, without a drink

"तपाइले जाँड, रक्सी खानु हुन्न हो? ( You don't drink alcohols, do you?)" The doctor asked me. Dec 11, 2012 After a reddish, tomato like eye, and unbearable pain, I decided to visit the doctor. It is a different story that the hospital was unprofessional. They called me at 1. I go at 12:59. The receptionist tells me to come at 3. #WTF — amWRit™ puri ♬ (@amWRit) December 11, 2017 So I reached the hospital at 3. The doc did some quick checkup. Then she put an anesthetic eye drop in my eye. I felt dizzy. I couldn't compile my senses, couldn't tell what was that feeling. She asked me not to worry, it's just 4% and even children use the same. The unexplainable feeling continued for about 5 minutes. The doc asked how I felt and I said "I am still dizzy." And then said, "You don't drink alcohols, do you?" And then as they say "मेरो दिमागको बत्ति जल्यो! (The bulb in my brain lighted up!)" Then, I was like

(Are you alone?)

Suryachaur, as seen on the way, about 15 mins to desination. Along the way I was asked, "तपाई एक्लै हो? (Are you alone?)" three or four times. I wanted to answer - "Yes bruh, alone. Forever alone!" Haha Lots of things I used to do alone. Oh yes, dirty minded f*cker, that too. I used to go to cafes alone, treat myself often. Every time there was weekend of day off from work, nothing crossed my mind than planning a cycle ride alone. Since few years, I haven't been cycling that often - may be I'm old, may be I have lost my way through adult hood. Every time someone looked at my tattoo and saw the cycle icon in it, people would either think I am an extreme cyclist or love cycling very much. But then they would see that I ride bike to work and judge me. They would ask "If you have a cycle tattoo, why do you ride a motor bike?" Cycling is more than a means of transport for me. I support and love rights for women doesn't mean I have t

Is GOOD EDUCATION an escape out of poverty?

A week back, I came across this article through a facebook page. Education Isn't the Key to a Good I ncome The title itself caught my attention. I worked as a Teach for Nepal fellow for 2 years in a community school of Sindhupalchok, Nepal, where I taught Science from grade 6 to 10. However being a TFN fellow didn't mean just teaching subject, it was way more than that. But one of the main beliefs we had was that if the kids in rural part could get proper education, this would help them have a better life - by better I mean financially. As mentioned in the article, Deborah Menkart, the executive director of Teaching for Change, agrees that Rothstein’s research supports what teachers have long known from their own experience on the front lines. “I think it also affirms the focus,” she said, on having “children not just see schools as a ticket out of poverty, as a way to ‘rise above’ your community, but as a way to [be] agents for change within their communities.” “P

GuRu

Our creation is that guru ( Brahma -the force of creation); the duration of our lives is that guru ( Vishnu -the force of preservation); our trials, tribulations, illnesses, calamities and the death of the body is that guru ( devo Maheshwara -the force of destruction or transformation). There is a guru nearby ( Guru Sakshat ) and a guru that is beyond the beyond ( param Brahma ). I make my offering ( tasmai ) to the beautiful ( shri ) remover of my darkness, my ignorance; ( Guru ) it is to you I bow and lay down my life ( namah ). Guru is the remover of darkness: Gu means darkness, and Ru means remover. Darkness refers to what obscures the light of awareness. Guru is the enlightenment principal that aids one in the realization of the true Self, the whole Self, the holy Self. The guru removes   avidya , or ignorance, which is a case of mistaken identity. It is when you think you a

Happiness

Mo Gawdat, Executive at Google shares some of his thoughts on #Happiness. Truly, happiness is not about what the world gives, happiness is about 'what you think' the world gives you. Happiness is equal to or greater than the difference between the way you see the events of your life and your expectations of how life should behave. We have mixed two things, HAPPINESS AND FUN. Fun is the modern world's replacement of happiness. When I am unable to reach that state of happiness, what I do is I go out on a weekend and party and BOOM BOOM! and my brain STOPS thinking. As long as it stops thinking, I think I feel happy. Not because I am actually in that peaceful state of happiness but because I suspended my unhappy thoughts.

26 Mind-Blowing Psychology Facts

Bright Side  has compiled a list of the most surprising psychology facts that can help you better understand yourself and others. Any friendship that was born in the period between 16 and 28 years of age is more likely to be robust and long lasting. Women generally prefer men with deep husky voices because they seem more confident and not aggressive. The people who give the best advice are usually the ones with the most problems. The smarter the person is, the faster he thinks, and the sloppier his handwriting is. Our emotions don’t affect the way we communicate. In fact, the very opposite is true: the way we communicate has an influence on our mood. The way a person treats restaurant staff reveals a lot about their character. People who have a strong sense of guilt are better at understanding other people’s thoughts and feelings. Men are not funnier than women: they just make more jokes, not caring whether other people like their humor or not. Shy people talk little

I got to read this early morning... As much as I would have problem in my commute if this rule is enforced, I equally welcome this if it helps in having better, non-polluted city. But, - By asking motorbikes to be removed, are you asking the motor bike riders to buy cars? The city thinks people are too rich enough to buy a car now? Or are you asking them to buy a cycle? Will the city plan a better cycle friendly road ahead? Or are you asking them to commute by public bus? How will the city make sure the public buses are travel friendly; on time, less crowded, safe? - Will the city plan how to ease the commute of motor bikers before enforcing this rule? Or will the city enforce the rule first and let the motor bikers figure out themselves - because we (the govt) f**king don't care how you travel. - Do you have any data to
