The day I relived my Childhood
Sep 11, 2015. Today I relived my childhood. I got to create things. I got to see amazing things created. I got to see scientists. I got emotional-my eyes got wet.
The next
morning, at about 9 am, there was noise outside my room. It is usually noisy at that time. Kids arrive. But it was louder. I checked to see what it was. It was Sukujit and Min Bdr Tamang
from Grade 7 showing off their projects. There was a crowd to see their works. I joined the crowd. I see a wooden excavator and a wooden
bus. Sukujit was using
his excavator to pick sand and load on the bus. It was totally unexpected.
“Sukujit Tamang and Min Bdr Tamang are both low achieving students in
Grade 7. Sukujit never seemed interested in class. He never worked hard. Once in a weekly test, he even didn’t handover the test paper. I was having hard time with him.”
It was
surprising and a very beautiful moment to see Sukujit with his excavator. He seemed real happy and proud. I got emotional.
He didn’t even know its name actually. He and almost everyone knew it as ‘Vacuum’. No idea why it was called a Vacuum. But there he was, proudly showing
off his work. I
appreciated both of them and headed to School office. Sagar stopped me on the way to show
his balloon powered car. I
took him to the office. Dhungana
Sir, our Vice-Principal
was at the office door. We
both watched the balloon car move. Dhungana Sir was so excited; he took it inside to show it to
everyone. I
couldn’t be much proud and
happy.
